Buckle up, these frogs and toads are CRAZY!!!
Number One:
The Suriname Toad! The Suriname toad has no tongue or teeth and has tiny eyes! This is not what makes the toad unusual, it’s the reproduction that makes it special! The female and male flip through the water in arcs. Then the female releases around 7 eggs which get embedded in her back by the males movements. Then the eggs form pockets in the females back over a few days. The eggs turn into tadpoles in these pockets eventually emerging from their mother’s back as fully developed toads! Below is a Suriname toad.

Number Two:
The Wolverine Frog! The Wolverine Frog is gray-brown with similarly-colored fur that grows along the sides of the frog’s body and across the top of their legs. They usually have a thick darker stripe running down the back of their back. They have tiny, dark spots on their back and on their legs. The Wolverine Frog has a very strange defense mechanism. It breaks it’s own toes, making the tips push through the pads on their feet, creating claws. Don’t get near these pointy frogs!

Number Three:
The glass frog! This cute little amphibian is unextrodiary on the outside, their backs are vibrant green with yellow spots. They are 3.81 cm (or 1.5 inches) big. The glass frog is really cute right side up but flip them over and. . . it’s skin is transparent! You can see it’s organs and veins but not even have to cut it open! And get this, if you look close enough you can even see some of it’s bones! Below is a picture of a glass frog!

Number 4:
Titicaca water frog! This medium to large frog is endangered! It only lives in Lake Titicaca basin including the rivers that flow into smaller, connected lakes. They are completely aquatic. The Titicaca frog has extra skin folds all over it, these are help them respire in the cold oxygen-rich waters of the lake. Here is a Titicaca water frog!

Number 5: (The last one!)The Wallace’s flying frog! The Wallace’s flying frog has a green back, orange-yellow sides and a white belly. (Their legs are these colors as well.) They have GIANT webs on their hand and feet, giving them the super power of flying!!!!!!!!!!! Well, they can’t fly but they can glide! These webs are yellow and black. These frogs are large.
